Performance Related Features
The standard engine gained an extra 11 horses for the new model year. On the 2025 K5 LXS, GT-Line and EX, a Theta-III engine produces 191 horsepower and 181 lb-ft of torque. An 8-speed automatic transmission utilizes a torque converter.
All models have push button start and an electronic parking brake. These Kia midsize sedans come with a remote engine starter that can also control the cabin climate, allowing you to cool it off on a hot day.
Automatic hill start assist helps protect the transmission when the car gear is shifted from park to drive on an incline. Just as the power door locks automatically lock when the car shifts into gear, they will automatically unlock if an impact is sensed.
The 2025 Kia K5 GT has an even more powerful engine. With 300 horses under the hood, this ride is a true sports sedan. With its racy handling matched to output, this sport sedan is fun on wheels.
LXS Trim Level
Packed with value, the K5 LXS cockpit has a 12.3-inch display for satellite radio and connectivity features. It also has a Super Vision color 4.2-inch display to augment the gauges. Drivers will appreciate wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Other standards include dual-zone automatic climate controls and six speakers. The cloth upholstery is matched with other soft touches such as the Tricoat headliner and leather-wrapped armrest.
A third display screen has been added below the touchscreen on 2025 Kia midsize sedans. This slim display has simple dials that let you adjust your air conditioning or audio levels with ease.
Adding incredible value, the Kia drive assist standards are more plentiful than ever. You don’t have to pay more to get help with forward travel, reverse travel, cruise control, parking, and more.
When the car is parked, parents have some reassurance that no one will be left behind. The rear occupant alert, which is door-logic based, can signal to remind caregivers to check for young passengers. A Safe Exit Assist tries to stop passengers from stepping into the path of an oncoming car.
2025 K5 Driver Assist Standards
Every K5 comes with smart cruise control, a lane following assist, and a leading vehicle departure alert. These systems make a driver’s life easier. The sedans also have a driver attention warning and a high beam assist.
Then there are more than 12 systems at work in every K5 to help the driver avoid trouble. These include side-oriented functions like the blind spot collision avoidance assist which actively intervenes if the warning doesn’t cause a fast reaction. Likewise a lane keeping assist tries to maintain the lane if the warning isn’t fast enough.
The forward collision system has many functions. It can warn about a leader car stopping, a pedestrian in the road, or a cyclist too close for safety. It can even respond with an emergency autobrake. Using cameras and radar, it also monitors safety when turning in junctions.
The K5 LWS helps you keep your K5 away from damage during parking. New for 2025, it has warning sensors for forward and reverse travel. An active assist can respond to the rear cross traffic collision avoidance warning.

K5 GT Line Trim Level
Always a favorite for its sporty style, the K5 GT-Line enters the 2025 model year with more fun at the ready. A standard 8-way power-adjustable driver’s chair is covered in soft Syntex leatherette. This can be upgraded to a racy red Syntex.
A sporty D-shape defines the leather-wrapped steering wheel. It wears the GT-Line logo. The leather-wrapping continues on the center door trim as well as the upper armrests. The revised console has a wireless charger and new USB-C ports.
Helping out with cold days, there are heated front seats. The GT-Line also gives you the option of all-wheel drive, making it the choice for winter weather driving challenges.
The large 12.3-inch touchscreen adds navigation. As such, the adaptive cruise system is upgraded to Navigation-based Smart Cruise Control with Curve capability. This system adjusts speed to match the curves anticipated by navigation.

2025 Kia K5 EX Trim Level
From its 12-speaker Bose audio system to its panoramic sunroof, the 2025 Kia K5 is a terrific example of luxury without luxury prices. The 12.3-inch touchscreen is matched to a 12.3-inch curved digital display panel.
Syntex leatherette covers the driver’s power chair with memory settings. Winter is less stressful with the heated steering wheel and heated front seats. Summer is less stressful with front ventilated seats and rear air conditioning vents.
Adding even more value to this luxury-like package, a blind spot monitor adds live coverage to help avoid accidents. A surround view monitor shows you every side while doing a slow maneuver. Plus the front/rear parking distance warnings are enhanced by a side warning. In addition, the reverse collision warning is now backed up by an autobrake.
2025 Kia K5 GT Sport Sedan
With the more advanced engine to satisfy driving enthusiasts, the 2025 Kia K5 GT shows just how much fun a sedan can be. Output is 290 horsepower and 311 lb-ft of torque.
Aggressive touches to the exterior, including a Quad-tip dual muffler, signal that this ride means business. The GT logo rides green calipers on the front and rear disc brakes. A rear emblem and special triangular fins add more sporty touches to the rear.
Inside a rich black Syntex leatherette wears the GT logo. Green piping adds a dash of sporty contrast to the bucket seats. The D-shaped steering wheel also wears the GT logo.
This ride is outfitted with everything you’ll find on the GT-Line. However, it moves more upscale with amenities like its panoramic sunroof.
Size and Spaciousness
While rated a midsize, the 2025 Kia K5 is certainly a big, roomy sedan. Passenger capacity is rated at 105.3 cubic feet. Total interior capacity is 121.3 cu ft. These numbers would sound good in an SUV, demonstrating just how spacious this sedan cabin really is.
Second-row passengers enjoy up to 37.4 inches of legroom. They have adjustable headrests and a rear center armrest. With the K5 EX, they also get rear air vents.
The trunk offers a very generous 15.6 cubic feet of space. It expands with the 60/40 split second-row seats. It’s easy to access with the Smart-open function.
